the essence (of Yosemite healing arts)
Yosemite Healing Arts has been a long time coming. It is a collaboration of skills, people and place, ebb and flow, life and death. It is all that flows and all that is in the absence of sound. The dramatic landscape of Yosemite can hold everything on the birth-death spectrum. This has been the biggest lesson I’ve learned in my twenty years living here.
On a more substantial level, YHA is a collaboration of my life work and skills which includes a community of local healers and artists who have come to call the Yosemite area home. We have eeked out an existence here because we believe in spending time in magical places and find life’s medicine here.
I invite you to join me and my friends in some of our offerings of bodywork, healing and community gathering.
In love, Heather
Heather Sullivan is the founder of Yosemite Healing Arts and co-Founder of Balanced Rock, a local health and wellness resource for the Yosemite area. Heather has been practicing various forms of the healing arts including professional massage therapy and yoga instruction since 1995. She is a certified massage therapist (CMT) and Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor at the 500RYT/CRYT level. Heather believes in the benefits of regular massage therapy and bodywork integrated with healthy lifestyle choices such as daily meditation, yoga, time in nature, and nutrition for optimal physical, mental and emotional health. Heather is a guide and teacher by nature. Other healing modalities she offers include birth-doula work, life coaching, wilderness guiding, grief-work, and private chef.
Heather has been blessed to call Yosemite home for two decades. The dramatic and inspiring landscape and constant musical change of the river song inspires her world-view and work. She believes in the healing benefits of spending time in nature, creating community, growing and creating healthy meals, practicing healing in daily acts and the process of creative expression.
